My poor dog!

So my dog Abby has really bad allergies right now. We have taken her to the vet a number of times and yet she continues to itch. Her skin around her neck and tail are bright pink/red. She scratches all the time, and I have to yell at her often. Last night I had to give her a bath. I had to first make sure the water was luke warm. Then, I had to get actual oatmeal to put in it to help it soothe her skin. She didnt really want to go in expecially when I took her collar off. She went crazy. I had to catch her and pick her up to get her in the tub. She looked at me with those sad brown eyes, but she sat still even when I told her to stay. I had to use some special oatmeal anti itch shampoo for her too. After she got all rinsed out, I made her stay in the tub until I got a towel. I started drying her off and she started getting really hyper. I think it was because of the whole experience. I let her loose after, and she started chasing Roxie. I had to give Abby her allergy pill, and a dingo. She finally started to relax and not itch. I still felt bad for her because her skin felt so hot.
Abby has had bad allergies even when she was a puppy. She contracted a staph infection because of it. The vet has tried shots, and other pills, and Benedryl. Nothing seems to work for long. She becomes immune to every medication he gives to her. We think we might have to shave her, and have him try to treat all the red skin. We are also afraid that she's going to end up dying from infections on her skin. That is if the vet can't help her.
On a happier note, it's almost October! I want to dress our dogs up in little Halloween costumes. The last time I tried to put antlers on Abby she tore them up. But the little witches hat I put on her before stayed on her head. Dogs can be so adorable dressed up like little humans. I should dress Roxie up as a little pumpkin because of her excess of weight. Abby doesnt like clothes so I really dont know what I should do with her. Speaking of clothes, I made my dog Roxie clothes before. She liked them too.
I feel like I keep trying to add more stuff on here. Anyways. My dogs seem to have other health problems. Abby with the allergies, and Roxie with the arthritis. I dont like seeing Roxie limping around on three legs. She has been for the past couple days, probably because of the weather change. During the summer before it got really hot, she would limp everywhere. Then Roxie expects us to put her on the couch, which is very difficult.
I feel bad for my dogs right now. I hope they get better.

My smart dog?

Abby. A so called baby to my mother. A real pain in the butt, and very stubborn too. Reminds me of the time when she was two years old. It was probably in April in 2006, before we got Roxie that we took Abby to doggie school. She was one of the smallest dogs along with a four month old boston terrier and a dauchand. Some other dog breeds included a lab, great dane, couple big mixed breeds, and a dalmatian at one point. Well it started off with the introduction lesson like a getting to know your dog. We got leather leashes with metal linking in it and a choke collar. We didn't really like where this was going so far. The choke collar was reccommended by the teacher of the class, and we thought it was cruel. Abby did too. I mean why do you want a chain of metal digging into your dogs fur in her neck? Plain mean, and I dont reccomend that you do that either, because it doesnt work. She tried choking herself to make a point that she wasnt going to obey the teacher. He could get any other dog even the huge dogs to do anything he wanted them to do. Abby of course could not be tamed. She hated even sitting on the cold floor, so we had to get her a grooming table with a blanket on it. She still wouldnt sit. She wouldnt even do it for treats. She loves treats! Next came the obsticle course. You know how dogs jump over minature horse jump things? Well we tried that, and Abby went around it when normally, she can "fly" like a bird. Eventually, puppy class came to an end after six gruesome weeks, and it was time for graduation. Of course every other dog passed, but Abby got invited back for half price (even though we didnt do it again). She did win an award for "most improved" even though she was the worst one there. Mom figured that she should just let her do whatever she wants because she's too stubborn to train. Now she does whatever she wants, and my mom loves her still. Again, a real big pain in the butt. I guess I love her too. I mean think of a huge guy trying to tame a little puppy. He was suppose to be a professional, and yet he couldnt train my adorable little puggle. She looks sweet, but trust me she will do as she pleases. So basically, I guess I should say my cute dog is a doggie school dropout. (Sing beauty school drop out from Grease in your head.) Haha! I bet it is stuck in your head now (if you know what I am talking about.) But yeah basically, she taught the teacher something. Maybe one day she will sit every time we ask her, or lie down for a nap when we tell her. Or maybe she will just act the way she does for the rest of her life, and we will still think she is a little cutie pie. Other dog owners beware of our dog.

Puppy babies

My dogs tend to like to be treated like babies. They act like actual children. My mom of course calls them her babies. I get annoyed with it sometimes. My mom called me Abby, and it really ticked me off. I mean come on, I am not a dog and my name is not Abby. Abby does act like a baby. One time she was feeling really sick, and she decided to kind of crawl on my moms lap and curl up on my moms arm like she was cradling a baby. It was adorable. My dogs use to let me pick them up and put them on thier backs to rock them. Now, Abby flips out. Roxie is way too big for me to pick up. She is losing weight, and I am very proud of my puppy! Sometimes I feel bad for Roxie. She cant get up on the couch by herself, she cant sit right, and since she is part pug, she snores all the time. When Roxie was little, she had bowed legs. Apparently, she wasnt getting the right nutrition, and since she is our little baby, we took her to the vet and gave her everything she needed. Now, even though she has problems walking, and she may have arthritis, she has nice straight legs. We figured she would get arthritis at an early age because of her weight and how her legs were as a puppy. She is still a really good dog, and she is very loyal. She sits in front of every door of the room you are in just so you can say hi to her as you are passing through. She is the only dog that will try to protect my dad. Abby attacks her when she tries to help him. I think it is because my dad makes fun of Abby all the time. Abby and Roxie like to watch t.v. too. Again, Abby hates other animals, and when she sees one on the t.v she flips out, flies over Roxie, and barks till her heart is content at the animal. She believes it can hear her. When the animal is off the t.v. she thinks it got scared and ran away. I would too if a little dog came flying out at me in a magical box! My poor dog is confused. She has mental issues that I would never be able to explain. Abby is so cocky and prissy that she wont eat off the floor, and she hates when the grass has dew on it. She avoids puddles, and when Roxie gets dirty, she avoids her too. Roxie tries to play with Abby all the time. She cant always, cause she either cant keep up, or her legs start to bother her. I do love my puppies sometimes even though they get on my nerves, and jump up on my legs, and sometimes burping in my face. They are entertaining, sometimes even more than t.v. Just watch out for the mighty puppy Abby!

Wild dogs

My dogs really do not like things that move. If they do, they chase it, catch it and have fun all the while. Abby doesnt mind when we plug the vacuum cleaner into the wall, but when it turns on and that room noise is heard, she goes crazy. She tries to bite the lights on it, and she has to back away from it when it comes too close. My mom thinks that one of these days, she will get a heart attack. I think it is funny when Abby's ears start floppin all over the place, and her eyes all wild with attackingness, and she attacks the vacuum full force. Abby's also really funny when she becomes a huntress. She stalks her prey, (which is normally a fly when we are outside) and she tries to swat at it like a cat. Normally she ends up killing it and eating it. It's really gross. Abby has acted like a cat for some time now. She climbs on the back of our furniture, and she lays down just like a cat does. She doesn't like to lick people either, except occasionally on the hands. She really doesnt act like a dog at all. Roxie on the other hand, is very loving, tries to give kisses, and often loves to be around us at all times. Abby is also really scared of the washer. She thinks it is going to attack her or something. She tries to attack first by going into the bathroom to bark at the water drain, (which also carries the washer water). Apparently it can't attack back, so she thinks that she won the fight. She also doesnt like animals too well. There was once a bat in our house, and we think it came in the night before, (but of course, we had no idea at that time!) The bat had to have been hiding somewhere in the house, and finally came out really late at night. Abby started cowering and running away. She didnt even bark at it because she was too scared. I had to end up putting her in the back door of our house so we could kill it. She is also scared of mice. The mouse almost came up to her, and just like the bat, she ran away. She thinks she is so big and bad, but when she is actually nose to nose with something, she freaks out, and runs away. Abby also doesnt like anyone else touching her bones. She will go in all the rooms to find a hiding place for it. She thinks our white floor is a good option for her brown bone to hide. Sometimes she even stands guard for it. Another quirk of Abby, is that when you throw a treat to her she doesnt understand what you are doing. Most dogs try to catch it in their mouths, while Abby either ducks out of its path, or she lets it hit her in the head. Anyways, they are wierd.
